This is an original earring design from the Red Hot Kitties metal craft studio, for our "Tango Chica Industrial Chic Dance Jewelry" Collection.
These earrings are hand fabricated from nickel silver, pure copper and reclaimed brass.
It's amazing what metal will do, if you know the secrets of hammer and torch!! These "Full Metal Dance " earrings define the term "industrial chic." The main top pieces are hammered, soldered, pierced and shaped brass, the perfect background for the lovely heat-patinaed copper circles stamped with "tango" and "chica." The detail photo gives a better view of the wonderful heat patina that appears like magicon the surface of copper in response to the delicate touch of a torch.
The bottom pieces resemble corrugated cardboard--imagine folding and rippling metal, as though it were paper.
These earrings have simple, hand crafted nickel silver ear wires.
Their mixed metal design works well with any combination of gold/brass, silver or copper pieces which you may already own. They appear to be quite substantial, but are very light to wear--an arty way of proclaiming your enduring Tango passion!
All of my metal jewelry is finished with a coat of Renaissance Wax, to help preserve the wonderful heat patinas.
